Beta vulgaris L.
Crop is harvested 60 days after sowing. Leaves are slightly wrinkled, juicy, green with yellow veins. Stems are yellow. Young leaves are suitable for salads, snacks grown leaves and stems are used in soups, stewed, fried, canned. If the winter is mild, covered roots overwinter in the soil. Grows best in non-acidic, humus-rich loamy soil.
