Grown as annual plant, distinguished by its ornamental appearance and excellent flavor characteristics. Leaves contain high contents of vitamins and essential oils, the flavor reminds of spinach. Fresh or stewed plants are used for food, leaves can also be used for green smoothies. Grows best in moist, humic soil in shady locations. This ornamental plant may be also grown in shaded flower-gardens. If allowed to flower and spray seeds, these pants will self-sow.
