Description
Thymus vulgaris L.
Annual, spicy, medicinal, nectariferous, ornamental herbs. Fresh or dried leaves, young shoots and blooms are used as a spice or for teas. Cut at the beginning of blooming. As spice, makes a perfect combination with parsley, onions, tarragon. Grows best in permeable, calcareous loam or sandy loam, sunny location. Grown in flower gardens, as a carpet plant, or on the windowsill in winter.
